ACLM | Where did you study, and where have you practiced in recent years? |
Dr Yee | I graduated from medicine (BSc MBBS) and Masters in Commerce (Health Informatics) at the University of New South Wales in 2003. Subsequently I studied at the University of Sydney in 2004-5 to obtain a Masters in Health Law. I was awarded a Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) in 2013 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner (FRACGP) in 2016. Over the past 10 years I have been working as an emergency staff specialist and general practitioner in Western Sydney. |

Dr Yee | I specialise in Emergency Medicine & General Practice. |
ACLM | What sparked your interest in legal medicine? |
Dr Yee | I studied a few legal subjects during my undergraduate degree and developed an interest during that time. |
ACLM | How has understanding the law affected your practice? |
Dr Yee | Law affects me in many ways. I interact with many patients and other health professionals through my everyday practice. From patient consultations, to completing reports, to communicating with law enforcement agencies, to public health, it is a requirement of my job to understand the law. |
ACLM | What benefits did you receive from attending ACLM's courses? |
Dr Yee | I gathered a much more thorough and deeper understanding of legal medicine. |
