ACLM welcomes a new President: Professor Mike O'Connor AM

We warmly welcome Professor Mike O'Connor AM to the role of ACLM President, following his election on 12 November 2024.

Mike is Visiting Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at The St George Hospital, Kogarah, and St George Private Hospital, where he is Chairman of the Patient Care and Clinical Review Committee since 2010. He is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW in the Division of Women’s and Children’s Health and Lecturer at Sydney University. He is a section editor for the Journal of Legal Medicine.

Mike has been a member of ACLM Council since 2016, serving as Vice-President Administration for the past 7 years. Mike follows six previous Presidents who have collectively made the College the success it is today.

ACLM thanks Dr Adam Griffin for his leadership as President of the College over the past five years.

Adam successfully steered the College through the pandemic years which brought new challenges to delivering College activities. His Presidency saw the formation of the Education Committee which has strengthened and expanded the delivery of ACLM education. He also spearheaded research into gaining specialist recognition, strengthened the governance processes of the College, and strengthened ties between ACLM and like-minded organisations. Adam continues on Council as the Censor in Chief.

We also welcome our newest Council members Dr Jane Anderson, Associate Professor David Ernest, and Dr Geoff Fisher.

Thank you to Dr Mary Frost, Dr Dion Suyapto and Dr Shelley Robertson for their recent service on Council.
