Professor Kumaralingam Amirthalingam - Professor of Law, National University of Singapore

Kumaralingam Amirthalingam is a Professor at the National University of Singapore Law School.  He obtained his LLB and PhD from the Australian National University.  He researches in the areas of Criminal Law (specializing in public prosecutions) and Tort Law (specializing in medical negligence and economic loss). He teaches Criminal Law, Tort Law, and Business Torts.  Kumar has served as Vice Dean of the Law School, Director of the Asian Law Institute, and Chair of the NUS Teaching Academy.  He is on the International Advisory Board of Medical Law International and the Editorial Advisory Board of Medical Law Review. He is a member of the Singapore Medical Council’s Complaints Panel and has served as an Appointed Expert to the Ministry of Health, Government of Singapore. He was seconded to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for two years as Senior Director (Research & Policy) and Deputy Public Prosecutor, and he has served as Amicus Curiae in the Court of Appeal in two drug trafficking cases.  He is presently completing a monograph on medical negligence and patient autonomy.

Dr Peter Chow is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Geriatric Medicine at Changi General Hospital (CGH). Raised in Hong Kong, Dr Chow studied medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong before completing his specialist training in Singapore. He further undertook medical humanities studies in London and obtained a Master in Medical Law and Ethics (LLM) from the University of Edinburgh.

As the Chairperson of the Clinical Ethics Committee in CGH, Dr Chow is actively involved in this field. He was appointed Deputy Academic Advisor and Lecturer at the Centre of Medical Ethics and Professionalism (CMEP) of the Singapore Medical Association, as well as the Co-Lead for Bioethics at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Medical Humanities Institute.

Dr Chow focuses on cognitive disorders in geriatric medicine at CGH’s Memory Clinic – managing dementia, the behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, as well as nutrition and swallowing conditions in elderly patients. Beyond his clinical role at CGH, Dr Chow is also an educator, serving as Adjunct Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and Education Lead for Year 4 medical students on attachment to the Department of Geriatric Medicine in CGH.

Dr Amirala Pasha - Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic | Attorney | American College of Legal Medicine Fellow and Executive Committee member

Dr Amirala Pasha, DO, JD, FACP, FCLM, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He currently serves as the Practice Chair for the Executive Health Section. In addition to his clinical practice, he is an attorney and a member of the Minnesota Bar. His research focuses on health law and policy with a special emphasis on FDA law, decisional privacy, and health policy education for clinicians. He is the editor of the recently published book titled Laws of Medicine: Core Legal Aspects for the Healthcare Professional. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Legal Medicine.

Cancellation, Privacy and Health & Safety Policies

By registering to attend, you agree that you have read and accept the Cancellation, Privacy and Health & Safety Policies. These policies apply to the 7 November 2025 Expert Report Writing course and the 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting & Awards Dinner.

Cancellation policy

A refund less $100 cancellation fee will be provided for all cancellations received at least 30 days prior to the event start date. Any cancellations after this point will be non-refundable. The $100 cancellation fee will be applicable individually to the Course and the ASM/Dinner.

Sickness:

Please do not attend the live events if you are sick with a contagious illness such as COVID-like symptoms. If you cannot attend due to illness, you will be offered a credit note or refund.

Contingency Planning:

If a situation occurs which significantly affects the majority of participants’ ability to attend in person, the event may either be postponed to a later date or held entirely online. Any such decision will be communicated to all as soon as possible if this circumstance arises. By registering, you agree to attend the course virtually on the same dates, should this circumstance arise. We recommend that you consider booking flexible travel and/or purchase appropriate insurance in case your plans change.
